Overview

For many students, The Brigade School is more than a place of learning. It’s a second home, one that quietly shapes childhoods, friendships, and the people they eventually become.

Upper Grove Studio created a series of three promotional films that reflect this emotional bond capturing not just what students learned, but what they felt while growing up within the school’s walls.

The Challenge

Schools are often spoken about in terms of curriculum, results, and infrastructure. But those who’ve studied there know the real story lives elsewhere, in memories, relationships, and moments that stay long after school ends. The challenge was to move beyond institutional messaging and reflect something more personal, more lasting.

A place we grew up in.

The Idea

Instead of explaining what The Brigade Schools offer, we chose to show what they mean. The films were designed as emotional journeys, almost like walking through a life lived within the school. From childhood curiosity to growing independence, from classrooms to corridors filled with memories. The focus wasn’t on performance. It was on belonging.

What We Did

Narrative Direction & Film Concept

We created three short films, each centred around lived experience — portraying school not as a phase, but as a formative chapter in one’s life.

The storytelling drew from:

  • Everyday moments that feel small, but stay forever

  • Relationships with teachers, friends, and spaces

  • The quiet transformation from child to young adult

Emotional Storytelling

Rather than scripted messaging, the films leaned into emotion — allowing memories, gestures, and expressions to carry the story.

The intention was simple: to make viewers feel like they were remembering their own school years.

The Outcome

The films resonated deeply with students, parents, and alumni alike because they reflected something universally true. The Brigade School came across not just as an institution, but as a place people carry with them. A space of learning, growth, and belonging that feels, even years later, like home.
